Electric (brake) motors intended for the application of winch lifting on icebreaker ships. Due to the extremely low temperatures around the motor that can occur on an icebreaker, we have mechanically constructed the motor using steel parts of exceptional durability at low temperatures. Technical consulting and knowledge of motor design materials in an aggressive combination of low temperature and dynamic drive. Due to the very important purpose of the motor drive machine – anchor lift winch, the motor is made electrically, according to customer requirements, in a highly reliable three-speed version with speeds of 360/725/1475 rpm. A reliable drive is important to the customer, and by using a three-speed version, it increases the regulation of speed by raising and lowering the winch. This design eliminates the use of a frequency converter and the motor, robust as it is, takes on the role of high reliability in extreme cold and humid atmospheres where the use of electronic components reduces the reliability of the entire system. The motor comes with a range of equipment: brakes (KONČAR-MES production), heaters, thermal protection of the winding and thermal monitoring of the winding temperature through PT100 temperature sensors. Additional equipment for the preparation of the motor for navigation monitoring and protection as a measure of preventive service. With this project, KONČAR-MES has once again shown that a team of electrical and structural engineers can make a top product that meets all the customer’s requirements and extreme working requirements for motors.
