KONČAR – MES invested in a new modern paint shop to improve the quality and productivity of products and services.

The paint shop consists of three painting cabins: two for motor painting and one for parts of the motors. A new paint shop means that we can fully satisfy all needed requirements: for corrosion protection, aesthetics demands, and choosing different RAL colors while meeting all international guidelines and environmental standards.

The semi-automated paint shop will complement our current volume requirements and accommodate increased motor size frames up to IEC 180. The capacity of the paint shop increases by a minimum of 25% with the speed of the chain 0.8 m/min (for the old chain speed was 0.3 m/min).

The paint shop process includes a lifting platform for lifting the motor, painting, drying and removing the motor via the lifting platform. The drying processes are repeated one or more times, depending on the requirements of the end customer. The motor reaches the lifting platform via roller assembly lines and is also directed towards the warehouse.

The conceptual layout of the equipment in assembly was created using LEAN tools, where we continue with the activities of business and process improvement with the involvement of employees to achieve excellence in the production of electric motors and fans.

This investment is part of significant investments in technology improvement and transformation of KONČAR – MES towards a sustainable factory.
